Day 01 Hanoi - Arrival (D) Meet on arrival at Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport, transfer to hotel. City tour (if time permits): Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century as Vietnam’s first university, Fine Art Museum, Quan Thanh Temple. Dinner at local restaurant. Evening: Water puppet show, the unique Vietnamese traditional art. Accommodation. Day 02 Hanoi - Haiphong – Halong Bay (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Continue visiting Hanoi and start with the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday and the whole October-November for maintenance) and his modeste residence, the One-Pillar Pagoda and the Army Museum. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon drive to Halong (170 km east of Hanoi – 3 hours) with the visit of a handcraft center en route. Dinner and accommodation at hotel. Day 03 Halong Bay – Hanoi (B/L/D) Breakfast. Discover Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. “Dragon descending to the sea“ as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 3,000 limestone islets rising from the clear emerald water, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. A 5-hour boat trip will bring you to Thien Cung and Dau Go caves. Seafood lunch on board and return to Halong. In the late afternoon drive back to Hanoi. Dinner and accommodation at hotel. Day 04 Hanoi – Hue (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for flight to Hue, the royal city of Vietnam’s last ruling dynasty. Arrival in Hue, transfer to downtown. Lunch at local restaurant. Sightseeing in Hue with visit to the royal tombs of King Tu Duc and King Khai Dinh and Tu Dam pagoda. Dinner and accommodation. Day 05 Hue – Danang – Hoi An (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Take a dragon boat on Huong river, passing by the house-boat village and Dong Ba market to Thien Mu Pagoda then visit Minh Mang tomb and the ruin of royal residence at Imperial Citadel. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon depart Hue for Hoi An. Stop at Lam Co for taking pictures of the peninsula and bay. Afterwards cross Hai Van Pass (Pass of the Ocean Clouds), passing through many pretty red-tiled villages with fruit orchards, enjoying spectacular views of sky and sea. In Danang visit the Cham Museum and proceed to Hoi An. Dinner at hotel and accommodation. Day 06 Hoi An - Danang – Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Discover the historic town which used to be a prosperous seaport city during the 16th to 18th centuries. Visit Hoi An market, Tan Ky old house, the covered Japanese Bridge and the Fukien Assembly Hall. Transfer to Danang airport for evening flight to Ho Chi Minh city. Transfer to hotel. Dinner and accommodation at hotel. Day 07 Ho Chi Minh City - Cai Be – Vinh Long - Can Tho (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Coach trip to Cai Be (2 ½ hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City) and embark a wooden boat for the trip to Vinh Long. Visit first the colorful floating market of Cai Be and then see locals producing rice popcorn and other sweets. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. In the afternoon continue along fruit orchards in narrow canals to the city of Vinh Long on the other side of the Mekong River. Transfer by coach to Can Tho and check in to hotel. Dinner in a local restaurant and accommodation at hotel. Day 08 Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Early morning boat trip to visit Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating market. Afterwards visit a fruit orchard for a tasting of the tropical fruits of the Mekong Delta. Lunch at local restaurant in Can Tho. Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon (4 hours) and transfer to hotel. Dinner and accommodation at hotel. Day 09 Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels (B/L/D) Breakfast at hotel. Visit Chinatown, Thien Hau Pagoda, History Museum and the former Presidential Palace. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon drive to Cu Chi (75 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City) visit an amazing complex of underground tunnels used during the American war by the Vietcong Rebels. Return Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner at local restaurant. Accommodation at hotel. Day 10 Ho Chi Minh City - Departure (B) Breakfast at hotel. Leisure time until transfer to Ho Chi Minh City / Tan Son Nhat airport for departure.
